TRAVEL

buspv.jpg We hope to help make your stay in our condo fun and easy. On this page we want to make a few suggestions on how to get around town. (Don’t get stuck just going to El Centro or Malcon Square in Puerto Vallarta!) There are beautiful villages and towns to see going North, especially Bucerias with its inviting and charming flea market around the old church, Sayulita with the surfers and waterfront restaurants and whale watching in Punta de Mita. All have lovely beaches and palapas (thatch shade umbrellas). Take public transportation and enjoy!

dot  Taking the Bus: Public transportation is easy, clean and safe. Next door you will find the Marival Resort. If you walk about 1 block past it, you will find a covered bench that represents one of the bus stops in the area, the other would be in front of the Paradise Mall.

dot  If you are going into Puerto Vallarta, look for the window sign that says “Puerto Vallarta; Wal-mart” . Bus drivers speak English so don’t be afraid to ask if they are going to your destination and have 120 pesos ready ($1.20) for fare and enjoy a 15 to 20 minute ride to Walmart where you get on another bus to El Centro (Puerta Vallarta’s town/boardwalk). On the return trip you can catch a bus almost anywhere in El Centro, just look for a bus that says Wal-mart. It will drop you in front of Wal-mart and there you will catch the ATM bus that says Nuevo Vallarta or it may say RIU. These buses will drop you right back at the Marival Resort and you just need to walk a short distance back to Villa Magna. Very easy and the buses are clean and cheap to use. (We always travel by bus, if we have lots of shopping bags on the way home we just grab a cab.)

dot  Taking a Cab: The cab stand is directly in front of the Marival Resort (the resort DIRECTLY next to us) or you can call one. Most of the time we just walk to the stand which takes 5 minutes. There are always many taxi’s located directly in front of the Marival. The cost should be 160 pesos to Puerto Vallarta or 160-180 pesos ($16-18) to Bucerias, Sayulita or the Airport. 120 pesos to Walmart or Sam’s club where you can shop for food. Soriani’s is a nice place to shop for food, also, and it is right where the bus drops you off (by Walmart) before heading to El Centro in PV.

dot  The Paradise Mall is just 3 miles south of Villa Magna (past Marival) and across from Paradise Village and it offers a grocery store, a lovely deli for breakfast, many clothing stores and restaurants. Almost anything you need is right there! If you want to grab a taxi the fare would be $3.

dot   Airport information: The Puerto Vallarta Airport is only 15 minutes to our condo at Villa Magna. The cab ride could be negotiated but they like to charge 250 peso’s or $24.75 USD. If you have carry-on lugguge you can take the bridge walkway to the other side of the main street and the Nuevo Vallarta Bus (ATM) stops right there and takes you to the Marival, which is directly next to Villa Magna.
